Why Cristiano Ronaldo was first to console Mohamed Salah after his #UCLFinal ending injury

Salah has been the star man for Liverpool this season and one of the key ingredients to the Reds’ mammoth European cup run.

But his – and many Liverpool fans’ – worlds came crashing down when Salah collapsed clutching his shoulder following a challenge from Sergio Ramos in the 25th minute.

The Egyptian attempted to carry on, but he was unable to get past the pain barrier and was forced to be substituted off in tears.

As Salah began his trudge off to the sidelines, Real superstar Ronaldo was one of the first to approach him and console him.

It will undoubtedly be because he knows precisely the pain of having to walk out of the biggest game of your career.

In the summer of 2016, Ronaldo led Portugal to the final of the European Championships as he captained Portugal.

But he too was left in tears when a leg injury ensured he had to be stretchered off the pitch.
Ronaldo looked genuinely sympathetic when he approached Salah and offered words of encouragement.

It looks as if Salah could be out of the summer’s World Cup with his injury.
Egypt begin their campaign on June 15 with a game against Uruguay, giving him just under three weeks to confirm his fitness.
